Who would have thought the brand we all got forced to wear by our parents back in the day would have a revival of the cool thanks to none other than Vybz Cartel? True and HILAR!!!
The sun reported on it yesterday...calling Kartel a 'reggae rapper' (seriously, is there not a black member of staff at The Sun that could have written this article?)
Apparently, Clarks have seen a huge increase in sales in Jamaica particularly but also in the UK and US.
From the article.....
"Kartel, 34 — real name Adijah Palmer — said Clarks are deeply ingrained in Jamaican culture and he himself owns more than 50 pairs.
He said: "Clarks is as much a part of the Jamaican culture as ackee and saltfish and roast breadfruit, I swear to you. Policemen wear it, gangsters wear it. Big men wear it to their work. Schoolchildren wear it to school. I personally have more than 50 pair of Clarks. I have more than there are states in America."
Michael Borge, marketing director for Clarks confirmed the company has seen increased demand in Jamaica in recent months."
