Snoop and his wife Shante (aka Boss Lady) have opened up and done a joint interview with People Magazine in the US recently and explained how close they we're to getting divorced had it not been for their daughter Cori being diagnosed with Lupus.
In 2004 Snoop filed for divorce but months later they got back together, then in 2008 they renewed their vows....they both agreed that the turning point was Cori finding out about the autoimmune disease.
Snoop said:
“That’s what it boiled down to. Cori’s lupus showed us we need to be together forever. You always think it’s gonna happen to someone else. Some days in the studio, I’d just cry. It was the only zone I had to express myself. My daughter is the love of my life. When she’d lay in bed saying, ‘My brain hurts’, it bothered me so much. I felt helpless… (But) she’s the toughest little thing I’ve ever met, even with the needles.”
His wife Shante said:
“Without (Snoop), I don’t know what I’d have done. It’s amazing how this all turned out. We were gonna get a divorce. But we wouldn’t have gotten through it (the lupus diagnosis) that way.”
This shows me a few things:
- Marriage is hard work and WORK you must, in order to stay together!
- Your kids are THE MOST important thing in your world.
- A 'break' can sometimes work (it did for Snoop and it did for Ross &Rachel)
